Queensland is now opened for Overseas Regional Migration

Queensland is now opened up for skilled and semi-skilled overseas skilled workers for migration to regional Queensland under 70 occupations.
The FNQ DAMA (Far North Queensland Designated Area Migration Agreement) is being effective from 12th Septemeber 2019 which will run for 5 years. The employers can now sponsor overseas skilled workers in designated areas of Australia including
1. Tablelands
2. Douglas Shire
3. Cairns
4. Cassowary Coast
5. Mareeba
Around 200 vacant seats to be filled in the first year with an occupation like cooks, childcare workers, mechanics, and farm inspectors. Employers can sponsor foreign workers for the subclass 482 Temporary skill shortage visa. however, the foreign workers cannot directly, the employers have to first approve by the designated area's representative (DAR). Only then can they submit a DAMA Labor agreement request with the Dept of Home Affairs.
An applicant can not directly apply for a visa under the DAMA they must fulfill the requirements
1. He/She must be sponsored by an employer from a designated area in Australia
2. He/She must be sponsored in an occupation which is listed on the head agreement
