Australia Immigration Important Updates After Elections 2019

The Australian General elections were conducted on 18thMay 2019 and the results suggest that Coalition Party will hold office for the next three years. There has been no announcement regarding the change in the Immigration Minister.
The Coalition Party is coming once again to the power and here are some of the updates related to Australia Immigration:
  • Introduction of new Regional Visas
The recently announced 2019 Skilled Work Regional Visa Subclass 491 and Skilled Employer Sponsored Visa Subclass 494 will be available from November. The government will focus on inviting migrants into the regional areas.
  • Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA)
The new Government is working on more Designated Area Migration Agreements to help businesses in regional areas address their skill gaps. The current DAMA introduced are the pathways for Australia PR. The Introduction of new DAMA in Northern Queensland should be announced in the next few months.   • The Government intervention into the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa
The Legal and Constitutional Affairs References Committee released a report in April 2019 that addressed the effectiveness of the TSS Visa for dealing with the skill gaps in Australia. The following recommendations were made:
