Indians are the 3rd largest migrant group in Australia 2018

he recent data released by ABS shows that the Indian population in Australia has grown significantly in the last couple of years. As of June 2018, around 592,000 Indians called Australia their home. This was a 30% increase as compared to the census figures of 2016.
Indians are now on the third spot as the largest migrant group in Australia by putting behind New Zealand on the fourth spot. There are 568,000 New Zealanders in Australia. Indians now make up for 2.4% of the Australian Population. The data also revealed that the median age of Indian migrants is around 34 years.

As per the table we can see that England has been the largest source of Migrants for Australia in 2018 followed by China and then India. The Australian ImmigrationDepartment granted 162,417 Permanent Residence Visa in the year 2017-18 out of which 33,310 were given to Indians.
