General Skilled Migration Program

On Thursday, August 25, 2022, the General Skilled Migration (GSM) program will open to more than 500 occupations in an effort to help solve the critical skills shortages in South Australia. Beginning on Thursday, August 25, 2022, all details and requirements for South Australian nomination will be posted on the migration.sa.gov.au website.

Please be aware that, in order to prepare for the launch of the 2022–23 program, maintenance will be performed on the Skilled & Business Migration website and application portal on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

Offshore applicants

To hasten their admission into the South Australian labour market, the state of South Australia will boost the number of offshore skilled migrants it nominates. To do this, South Australia will choose overseas candidates from among those who have submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) via the Department of Home Affairs' Skill Select database to apply for state nomination. During this program year, offshore applicants won't need to submit a Registration of Interest (RoI). Please make sure that all the information in your Skill Select EOI is up to date and that you have chosen South Australia as your first desired State or Territory to move to in Australia since South Australia will be nominating offshore applicants from over 470 occupations.

Onshore applicants

The following streams, among others, will accept direct nomination applications from qualified onshore candidates:

  1. South Australian Graduates
  2. South Australian Workers
  3. Outer Regional South Australia
  4. Permanent Residents

Processing times will be posted here on a regular basis, and South Australian residents with Subclass 485 visas that are about to expire may make an online inquiry to seek priority processing.

Business Innovation and Investment Program

The Australian Government has given South Australia a small number of nomination slots for the Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP).

The conditions for South Australia's BIIP nomination for the 2022–2023 program year are being finalized by Skilled & Business Migration, and information on the start of the 2022–2023 program will shortly be available on Aptech Visa’s website.

  • Educational background
  • Specialized educational credentials

Free Australia Immigration Assessment Form

Age, employment, a diploma or trade degree, the abilities of the de-facto spouse, and English proficiency are the most frequent areas where applicants might increase their point totals.

Increase your English Language Proficiency

Whether you are a native English speaker or not, getting a good score on the IELTS exam will help you, it is an effective strategy to gain more points and raise your chances of PR.

If you achieve a score of 8 or higher on the IELTS test, you will gain 20 points.

  • If you have a score of 7 or higher on the IELTS test, you will gain 10 points.
  • An IELTS test score of 6 or higher indicates proficient English; you will receive 0 points.

It's important to bear in mind that you can prepare for the IELTS exam before the deadline for applications because it's a terrific approach to earn those crucial points.

Obtain beneficial work experience

You can increase your PR application points by having work experience in your specified skilled occupation or a closely similar skilled occupation. Five extra points can be earned with as little as one year of job experience. This is crucial to keep in mind when applying because both domestic and international work experience might be taken into account. An individual may receive a maximum of 20 points for work experience.

Qualifications in education

International students who successfully complete a course related to a specific occupation included on the Australian Skilled Occupations List are more likely to be granted permanent residency. You can apply for an Australian post-study work visa as soon as your two years of study at an accredited Australian university, college, or vocational school are through. This visa enables students to temporarily work and reside in Australia for a period of two to four years, depending on their academic credentials. It takes between two and four years to earn more points for your PR application.

Age

Your points are strongly impacted by your age. People between the ages of 25 and 32, for instance, receive the highest score of up to 30 points. However, those who are 45 years of age or above will not be awarded any points. It might be worth applying sooner rather than later if you are able to do so before the age of 32.

Nomination by the State or Territory Government

Five points can be earned if you are nominated for Visa Subclass 190 by the state or territory authority. Regional areas are seeing an increase in the popularity of PR applications. Students are eligible to receive an additional 5 points if they fulfilled the 2-year Australian study requirement in a regional location.

Even though it can be time-consuming and challenging, obtaining PR in Australia is possible. Before applying, it's crucial to perform some study and recognize the areas where points can be earned. After choosing the program, check the eligibility and visa requirements to proceed further. You can contact Aptech visa expert to know the eligibility for each program.

Step 3: Register for your English language Test

English is an official language of Australia, and to qualify, you must obtain at least a competent level. For this, you may take up the IELTS or PTE test.

Step 4: Take Skills Assessment

You must get a positive skill assessment done by an authorised assessing body like ACS for your nominated occupation code. You will get a report within 10 weeks.

Step 5: Submit your EOI

After skill assessment, the next step is to submit an Expression of Interest online in the Skill Select. Then, you can apply for your chosen skilled subclass based on your nominated occupation and point score.

Step 6: Obtain your ITA

After submitting an EOI and obtaining a minimum of 65 points, you will get an ITA (invitation to apply) from the Department of Home Affairs, Australia, in their monthly invitation rounds.

Step 7: Submit your PR application

After receiving your ITA, you must accept it and submit your final application along with relevant documents and fees within 60 days.

Step 8: Get your visa granted.

The DHA will then assesses your application and supporting documents, do a background check, and if everything is found to be correct. As per the requirement, you will get approval for a permanent residence visa.

Ways to improve your profile and get an Australia PR visa faster

Get a Higher Qualification: Obtain a higher education, such as a master's or doctoral degree, to further your talents and expertise. A diploma is worth ten points on the GSM point system, while a Master's or doctoral degree is worth fifteen and twenty points.

1. Improve your English language abilities:

Improving your English language abilities can help you score points and increase your chances of receiving PR.

You will not receive any points for your language ability if you receive a competent score of 6 on the IELTS.

However, an IELTS competent score of 7 or equivalent will get you 10 points, while a superior score of 8 will earn you 20 points.

2. Academic Qualifications

International students who complete a course related to an occupation on the Australian Skilled Occupation List have a better chance of getting permanent residency. After completing two years of study at an accredited Australian university, vocational school, or college, you can apply for an Australian post-study work visa. This visa allows students to work and reside in Australia for 2–4 years, depending on their qualifications. Two to four years is more than enough time to earn bonus points for your PR application.

3. Keep yourself informed

In Australia, immigration laws are continuously changing. You can check the Aptech visa website to keep you up to date on the most recent changes:

  • Skill Select: For each Skill Select round, the number of points necessary and the number of invitations sent can vary greatly. This means that the amount of time you have to wait and the facts you need may fluctuate significantly from the previous year.
  • State Sponsorship: Opportunities for state sponsorship might arise, and they always fill up quickly.
  • Lists of Occupations: The skilled migration occupation list has undergone significant adjustments. These adjustments look to be occurring more frequently in the future. As a result, you must keep an eye on it.

How can I increase my PR points in Australia? - Aptechvisa

As is generally known, Australia has a fantastic point-based immigration system called Australia Skilled Migration Points System, or Skill Select, in place to attract the best and brightest skilled economic migrants to help drive the country's economy.

Free Australia Immigration Assessment Form

To be qualified for Australia Immigration as an economic applicant, you must receive at least 65 points under the popular system previously known as the General Skilled Migration (GSM) system.

These points are awarded by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) based on factors such as age, education, language abilities, work experience in Australia, work experience overseas, spouse skills, and so forth.

Now comes the topic of how to obtain Pocket Australia Skilled Migration Points.

Let's go over some key points where you can rack up some extra points and boost your total!

Language Proficiency: There are 20 points available for language skills. You have a lot of room to 'go full throttle' here. The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) assigns 0 points for competent skills, 10 points for proficient skills, and 20 points for excellent skills. You must have an overall IELTS score of 8 or above in all four components. It means that if you join in a language course and brush up on your skills, you'll be able to go 'for the kill.'

Study in Australia: The DHA awards 5 bonus points to candidates who have studied in Australia, with the goal of encouraging candidates to do so. Because these 5 points are in addition to the points you would receive for your highest academic certificate, registering for a course in the country on a Study Visa in advance and obtaining Australian qualifications is a good option. Your research does not have to be related to the profession you've chosen.

Regional Study: There's a fair chance you'll get another 5 bonus points here. The Australian government hopes to attract international students to study in regional locations. As a result, if you live and study in a regional area for at least 2 years, you will receive an additional 5 points.

Nomination from an Australian state or territory: It will earn you 5 points, which will be added to your overall immigration score. Apply for a Nominated Visa to take advantage of this (Subclass 190).

Partner abilities: You have a high probability of improving your score here as well. If you include your partner in your application, you will receive an additional 5 Skilled Migration Points for Australia. You will receive points based on your partner's skill level. You will only get these points if your partner is under 45 years old, speaks English well, and has her abilities evaluated by an appropriate authority for a profession on Australia's relevant Occupation List.
