Updates on the Processing of Immigration Applications in Australia

The Department of Home Affairs began immigration processing across all visa cases following the reopening of international crossings on February 21, 2022, for fully vaccinated visa holders, and is now working through a substantial backlog of outstanding visa applications. Fragomen has noticed processing delays for all sorts of visas, including onshore visas that need health tests. In New South Wales and Victoria, health examination bookings through Bupa Medical Visa services are currently restricted, leading to visa processing delays.

Applications for jobs not on the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List are still being processed with delays (PMSOL). However, Fragomen has noted that more recently lodged applications are being completed within conventional time frames, including improvements in time frames for offshore TSS 482 visa applications due to the increased availability of health assessment appointments. The Department of Home Affairs will continue to prioritize jobs on the PMSOL and in important sectors, and applications will be processed according to government processing priorities.

Points Calculator for Australia Immigration under Skilled Independent Category

The various Australian immigration programs are strategically designed to select the most qualified candidates. In addition, specific parameters have been designed to ensure that only those individuals who can significantly contribute to the nation's economy are invited to continue their Australia PR process for immigration to Australia.

One such mechanism is the Australia PR point calculator, which assigns points to candidates based on various factors to assess their potential. It is a tool that assists aspiring immigrants in determining their tier potential to meet the requirements for Australian permanent residency under the skilled independent category. Applicants who achieve a score of 65 or higher are eligible to apply for Skill Select, the Australian government's portal for determining eligibility.

Depending on their skill sets, educational qualifications, and work experience, skilled professionals can migrate to Australia. An individual can assess their chances of immigration to Australia using the general skilled migration self-assessment test. The Australian PR system is based on a point system, and to be eligible, we must have at least 65 points.

Individuals under 50 years old who speak English fluently in the profession must be included in Australia Skilled Occupation List and have sufficient work experience in their nominated occupation, all of which must be included and will score well.

Factors to determine Points for skilled migration to Australia

Immigration candidates can obtain the required Australia immigration points under the Australia PR point system, which are awarded to a candidate if he meets the requirements under the following criteria.

Age: Applicants’ age must be between 18 and 44 can to score good points.

English language proficiency test results: The applicant must submit test results from any recognized English language proficiency test to demonstrate that he has the required proficiency in the language.

Points for overseas experience (experience outside Australia): If the applicant has three, five, or eight years of overseas experience in the nominated occupation in the last ten years, they can claim points.

Points for overseas qualifications (those earned outside of Australia): The applicant can claim points for recognized qualifications at the bachelor's or higher level or a PhD.

Study in Australia: If the applicant takes a course in Australia for at least two academic years, they can earn extra points.

Live and Study in a Regional Area: If the applicant has met the Australian study requirement of living and studying in a 'regional low population growth metropolitan area' for at least two years, he may be eligible for additional points.

Partner Skills: If the applicant's partner meets the basic age requirements, English language ability, qualifications, and skills assessment result, the applicant can claim points under partner skills.

Candidates must score a minimum of 65 points to meet the Australia PR eligibility criteria under the skilled independent category.

You can apply for an Australian Partner Visa in or outside of Australia. However, if you are in or out of Australia, you must apply for a different Partner Visa subclass.

  • If you are already in Australia, you can apply for a Partner (subclass 820) Visa for a temporary stay before applying for a Partner (subclass 801) Visa for permanent residency.
  • If you are not in Australia, you can apply for a Partner (subclass 309) Visa for a temporary stay and then a Partner (subclass 100) Visa for a permanent stay.

Australia Spouse Visa Processing Time

An offshore Australia Partner Visa application may take 17-23 months to process, while an onshore application may take 23-27 months.

Australia Spouse Visa Fees

The application fee for a Partner Visa is AUD7, 850 for the main applicant. Because July is the start of the Australian fiscal year, the fee may increase each year. The Australia PR application process will start in July, so it's the best time to apply for the visa under expert guidance to save your time and unnecessary hassle.

Australia Spouse Visa Requirements

First and foremost, determine your eligibility for a partner visa. Before proceeding to the document checklist, you must first determine your Australia Partner Visa eligibility.

To be eligible for an Australian Partner Visa, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be married or in a de facto relationship with an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.
  • If you are in a de facto relationship, you and your partner must have lived together for at least 12 months or ensure that your relationship has been registered under state law.
  • Your partner should sponsor you;
  • Your age must be above 18 years or above.

LET'S CHECK YOUR ELIGIBILITY RIGHT NOW.

To demonstrate your eligibility, you and your partner must provide evidence in the form of documentation. So, check your eligibility now and fulfil your Australia Spouse Visa requirements.

Australia Visitor visa, also known as an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority), is a subclass 600 visa. You can use this visa to travel around Australia, visit family and friends, or study or train for a short time.

Short-term business visitors can also use this visa. An ETA tourist visa is a multiple entry visa valid for 12 months from the date it is issued. You can stay for up to three months for each entry. Unlike traditional visas, there are no paper applications to fill out, and your passport will not contain any visa labels or stamps. Instead, your tourist visa for Australia will be attached to your passport electronically.

Australia Tourist Visa processing time

It takes to process an Australian tourist visa depending on how quickly you supply the supporting documents, how quickly you respond to requests for additional information, how long it takes to verify your information, and peak processing times.

COVID-19 has impacted some visa processing times, and applications may take longer to complete. The processing time for Visitors and Working Holiday Makers is calculated differently depending on when you applied. If you applied before the border reopened, the processing time begins when you became eligible to travel. If you applied after the border reopened, the processing time starts with your application date.

A conventional Australian tourist visa (Subclass 600) can take up to a month to process, with the vast majority of cases taking between 20 and 33 days.

Tips to Get Your Australia PR Visa Faster – Aptech Visa

Applying for a Permanent Residency with a Skilled Independent Visa is one of the most prevalent ways for students to stay in Australia. You may believe that obtaining Australian PR is simple, but not. If you are having trouble getting a permanent residency visa in Australia, you should seek assistance from migration agencies. I must suggest Aptech Visa, the best consultancy for Australia PR. The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) manages a global application system known as the Select Skill Program or the General Skilled Migration Program for Australia Immigration purpose (GSM).

This program is based on the country's specific labour market requirements and how many Australia PR points you are scoring. So let's have a look at how you can get Australia PR faster by improving the GSM requirements:

Check Your Australia Immigration Points

The GSM (General Skilled Migration) program is one of the most popular and fastest visa categories you can apply for and get an Australian PR visa.

Free Australia Immigration Assessment Form

Following are the fastest visa categories:

·         Skilled Independent Visa Subclass 189

·         Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190

·         Skilled Work (Provisional) Visa Subclass 491

You may follow the stepwise Australia PR process that is written down below to get the Australia PR faster in 2022:

Step 1: Choose a right visa category

You must choose or nominate an occupation under the Skilled Occupation Lists and choose a visa subclass to apply.

Check Your Australia Occupation In-Demand List

Step 2: Check your Eligibility

After choosing the program, check the eligibility and visa requirements to proceed further. You can contact Aptech visa expert to know the eligibility for each program.

Step 3: Register for your English language Test

English is an official language of Australia, and to qualify, you must obtain at least a competent level. For this, you may take up the IELTS or PTE test.

Step 4: Take Skills Assessment

You must get a positive skill assessment done by an authorised assessing body like ACS for your nominated occupation code. You will get a report within 10 weeks.

Step 5: Submit your EOI

After skill assessment, the next step is to submit an Expression of Interest online in the Skill Select. Then, you can apply for your chosen skilled subclass based on your nominated occupation and point score.

Step 6: Obtain your ITA

After submitting an EOI and obtaining a minimum of 65 points, you will get an ITA (invitation to apply) from the Department of Home Affairs, Australia, in their monthly invitation rounds.

Step 7: Submit your PR application

After receiving your ITA, you must accept it and submit your final application along with relevant documents and fees within 60 days.

Step 8: Get your visa granted.

The DHA will then assesses your application and supporting documents, do a background check, and if everything is found to be correct. As per the requirement, you will get approval for a permanent residence visa.

Ways to improve your profile and get an Australia PR visa faster

Get a Higher Qualification: Obtain a higher education, such as a master's or doctoral degree, to further your talents and expertise. A diploma is worth ten points on the GSM point system, while a Master's or doctoral degree is worth fifteen and twenty points.

1. Improve your English language abilities:

Improving your English language abilities can help you score points and increase your chances of receiving PR.

You will not receive any points for your language ability if you receive a competent score of 6 on the IELTS.

However, an IELTS competent score of 7 or equivalent will get you 10 points, while a superior score of 8 will earn you 20 points.

2. Academic Qualifications

International students who complete a course related to an occupation on the Australian Skilled Occupation List have a better chance of getting permanent residency. After completing two years of study at an accredited Australian university, vocational school, or college, you can apply for an Australian post-study work visa. This visa allows students to work and reside in Australia for 2–4 years, depending on their qualifications. Two to four years is more than enough time to earn bonus points for your PR application.

3. Keep yourself informed

In Australia, immigration laws are continuously changing. You can check the Aptech visa website to keep you up to date on the most recent changes:

  • Skill Select: For each Skill Select round, the number of points necessary and the number of invitations sent can vary greatly. This means that the amount of time you have to wait and the facts you need may fluctuate significantly from the previous year.
  • State Sponsorship: Opportunities for state sponsorship might arise, and they always fill up quickly.
  • Lists of Occupations: The skilled migration occupation list has undergone significant adjustments. These adjustments look to be occurring more frequently in the future. As a result, you must keep an eye on it.
Before any further delay, start your Australia immigration process now and to save your time, contact the best Australia PR expert. Fill out Free Australia Immigration Assessment Form to check your eligibility.
